P2 Pride Assembly Program

Warrensburg Elementary School reinforces that everyone in our building is expected to follow the rules of being Safe, Responsible, and Respectful in all areas of the school. Each month, we host a WES PRIDE Assembly to reinforce these behaviors and to recognize students who exemplify P2 Pride characteristics.
  • September Character Strength: CURIOSITY - Students were recognized for demonstrating Curiosity throughout the month.
  • October Character Strength: INTEGRITY -  Students were recognized for demonstrating Integrity throughout the month.
  • November Character Strength: BRAVERY - Bravery means choosing to do the right thing, even when it feels scary. It doesn’t mean you aren’t scared; it means you keep going, you try your best, and you stand up for what’s kind and fair.
  • December Character Strength:  SELF-CONTROL
Stay tuned for more information as we celebrate our students and their #EMPOWERED positive actions that inspire our entire school community!

Holiday Spirit Week 2025: Sponsored by Student Council

The WES Student Council will sponsor a holiday spirit week 12/15 - 12/19:
Spirit Week highlights:
  • Monday: Dress Like Your Favorite Christmas Movie Character
  • Tuesday: Blue Christmas (Wear Blue)
  • Wednesday: Crazy Christmas Hair of Hat
  • Thursday: Ugly Sweater Day
  • Friday: Christmas PJ Day!
Join the Fun. Your support helps make Spirit Week memorable and meaningful!

Veterans Day Assembly:

WES united to honor our veterans with a whole-school assembly led by the Fourth Grade teachers. Each grade arrived prepared with artwork that depicted what Veterans Day means to them.

The program featured the high school band performing songs associated with each branch of the military, and students delivering speeches about the significance of the day. Several students shared messages in sign language to “sing” My Country, ’Tis of Thee. We extended our gratitude to our own veteran, Mr. Birkholz, and welcomed a special guest performer, Mrs. Seeley, who sang This Land Is Your Land with guitarist Mr. Ovitt.

The gymnasium buzzed with music and positive energy from students and staff alike. What a wonderful Veterans Day!

Field Trip - Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra:

On November 19, Warrensburg students in Grades 3–6 had the opportunity to experience a live performance of Peter and the Wolf by the Glens Falls Symphony.

Before the music began, the conductor and musicians gave the students an engaging preview: each instrument was introduced, with the sound and timbre explained, and its character in the story—Peter, the Bird, the Duck, the Cat, the Wolf, and Grandfather—brought to life through brief demonstrations. The interactive session helped the students hear how the different voices of the orchestra represent the characters and actions, setting the stage for a memorable musical journey.

Front Circle Drop Off Reminders:

The front circle opened successfully this year, and we’re pleased with the results. To keep morning drop-off safe and efficient, please follow these guidelines:
  • Pull your vehicle all the way up to the staff member at the front of the line, if possible.
  • Drop off your child curbside.
  • Stay in your vehicle until your child is safely out of the car.
We appreciate your cooperation and support!

Main (Pillar) Entrance:

During the school day, the only entrance available for school business is the main entrance door. If you need to enter the building during the day for any reason you will need to use the buzzer, and our Security Monitor/Greeter will then unlock the door for entrance. You will then need to sign in to the building or sign your child out/in depending on the purpose of your visit. All visitors are expected to show proper identification and will be issued a temporary picture identification badge.

Attendance:

Regular school attendance is crucial for your child's academic success and social development.
When students attend school consistently, they not only keep up with lessons and important skills, but they also engage with their peers, fostering friendships and teamwork. Every day in the classroom provides unique learning experiences that contribute to your child’s growth.

If your child is absent from school, please contact Mrs. Seeley in the attendance office with the reason for the absence. She can be reached by phone at #518-623-9747 x197 or via email: seeleyk@wcsd.org. Our school uses Parent Square to contact you when the reason for an absence is unclear. Please ensure your contact information is up to date so you don’t miss important messages.
